The Aran Islands

A must for anyone that wants to witness an island with such a unique setting. Truly unbelievable. Travelling to the Aran Islands is today a much easier task than it was 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Kilronan is the main village on Inis Mór which was built on a big harbour what is necessary for the massive fishing industry on Inis Mór combined with the sea traffic which brings tourists to and from the mainland. Once you are on Inis Mór you have a number of options as regards transport. If it is a nice day you might prefer some outdoor transportation in the form of horse and cart or bicycle. If you want something a bit more modern there are small buses also available. Many people arrive on Inis Mór as part of a day trip.
